In case the bacterial infection penetrates the center of the tooth or the third layer – pulp it can cause pain due to inflammation and infection. Hence, it needs to be removed.

X-ray

As a first step, we take an X-Ray of your infected tooth, especially the root part. We examine the X-Ray to get a clear view of the severity of infection based on which we proceed with the treatment.

Anesthesia

Next, we will numb the affected tooth with Anesthesia so that you don’t feel the pain during the procedure.

Opening of the crown

An opening is made through the crown of the tooth, and into the infected pulp chamber.

Disinfection of root canal

A topical antibiotic fluid is put into the root canal to kill all the bacteria and rinse out the debris.

Pulpectomy

Then the pulp is removed using small instruments. And we carefully clean and shape the root canal.

Root filling

After the root canals are cleaned and shaped, we will fill them with a root canal sealant (rubber-like material) called ‘gutta perch.

Adding a crown

We place the crown on top of the tooth by filling and sealing it with dental cement.
